Sports Director
Chris Nettleton is an Emmy award-winning sports journalist with a flair for fun, and a style he hopes makes you laugh.

Over the past decade, he’s held nearly every type of job in sports journalism, and won awards doing most of them. Chris graduated from Drake University with a double major in broadcast news and English.

While at Drake, Chris helped start the student radio sports department doing play-by-play for everything from basketball to three straight days of track and field. He was also homecoming royalty and a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

Chris joined KBOI 2 as Sports Director in September of 2011, and he’s quickly grown to love the Treasure Valley. A love for the state of Idaho shouldn’t come as a surprise; his wife, Megan, grew up in Sandpoint, they were married in Coeur d’Alene, and the two look forward to watching their son, Quinlan, grow up in such a family-friendly state.

Before joining KBOI 2Sports, Chris worked in Montana, Minnesota, Iowa, and Tennessee (It was very hot there). Like most Minnesotans, Chris is always up for a good game of hockey, so if you need a goalie who’s more sieve than save let him know.

When Chris isn’t out covering the Boise State Broncos, or bouncing from game to game on a football Friday, you can find him chasing around his son who’s decided to start his terrible twos a little early.
Chris is always open to comments and story ideas, so let him know what’s going on!
