Man who crashed motorcycle, killing passenger sentenced

BOISE - A man who police say drove his motorcycle drunk and crashed near the Boise Depot killing his passenger last year has been sentenced to prison.

Patrick Fairchild was sentenced to 15 years in prison (one fixed) for the vehicular manslaughter charge. Police say Fairchild lost control of his motorcycle near Capitol Boulevard and Vista Avenue in August 2009.

He'll have to serve one year in prison before he's eligible for parole.

A judge, however, has stipulated that he'll review the sentence in six months.
