Police forced to shoot, kill pitbull after felony arrest

A dangerous suspect that alluded several police agencies in the Treasure Valley is now behind bars.

The suspect, Jason Bradford, was wanted for assaulting two Boise police officers last week in a Boise Bench neighborhood.

During the incident, Bradford managed to escape authorities in a stolen vehicle. When he left the neighborhood, however, two officers had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the vehicle.

Caldwell Police caught up with the 36-year-old Thursday night after a tip led authorities to his whereabouts.

He later surrendered at the Caldwell home.

Police say during the arrest, a dog ran from Bradford's home and attacked their K-9. Police say they had to shoot the dog, which died.
