Truck set on fire, homes vandalized in Nampa neighborhood

NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) - Police are on the hunt for who ever vandalized numerous homes and vehicles.

Nampa Police said Wednesday officers received eight separate reports of vandalism and one arson between 2-6 a.m.

The owner of the truck, Kevin Miller, was awaken by a neighbor after they heard an explosion. Kevin came out to see his truck in flames, and tried to use the hose to keep it at bay until fire fighters could arrive.

Many neighbors tell KBOI nothing like this has every happened in this area, and they don't understand why someone would do it.

"I can understand kids out egging, or toilet papering somebody that's one thing," said Miller. "To take it to that level I just don't understand it at all. I don't see the joy in it."

Nampa PD says the suspects used blunt objects such as baseball bats to break out car windows, rocks to throw through house windows and in three of the reports some type of large firework or mortar was used.

Anyone with information is asked to call 343-COPS.
