LOS ANGELES (KBOI) - Starting your Major League career against Roy Halladay and the Philadelphia Phillies might seem like a daunting task for some, but Boise native Stephen Fife isn't one of them.

The former Borah high school star pitched six innings of one-run baseball, allowing four hits, and 3 walks while striking out just one batter.

Fife out-dueled Halladay early on and left the game with a 2-1 lead, but Ronald Belisario fell apart with the bases loaded in the eighth inning. Belisario walked Chase Utley to score the game-tying run, and hit Ryan Howard to plate the game-winner.

The Phillies edge the Dodgers 3-2, and spoil Fife's impressive MLB debut.
