The little girl was being prepared for burial when she began to move inside of her coffin. A neighbor of the family had opened the girls coffin to adjust the body when he noticed a slight movement of her head.
The three-year-old Filipino girl was apparently pronounced dead two days earlier.
Video footage posted online shows the ceremony erupting into chaos as a man and a woman, identified by the Philippine Star as the tot's parents, pick her up out of the casket and wrap her in blankets.
Police Inspector Heidil Teelan told the paper he was not the proper authority to pronounce on a medical case but confirmed the parents said the girl had "severe fever" for days so they took her to a medical clinic on Friday, where she was pronounced dead early the next morning.
But at the funeral Sunday, a mourner arranging the coffin saw the girl's head move. Someone else checked her pulse and confirmed she was alive.
The little girl was doing well enough to go home after tests were done. Medical personnel will check her condition in the coming days to make sure she is improving.
