UPDATE: Judge sets bail for adults connected to meth bust
BOISE - Two adults connected to a meth lab were arraigned on Monday.

Ronald Rea, 52, and Katrina Elser, 24, were arraigned on felony drug charges in Ada County. A judgte set their bonds at $150,000 each. Rea also faces another felony charge for injury to a child.

On Friday, police raided the home on Dakota Street in Boise. Four adults and three children were all brought outside for decontamination. The children are now in state custody.

"It's an older neighborhood, but it's still real nice and this kind of thing devalues the neighborhood," said Phillip Lackey, a neighbor.

Officers say you never know where meth can pop up.

"That's the thing about meth labs, they can be anywhere. They can be in the trunk of a car, in a motel room, lower class neighborhood, farm building, you just never know," said Lt. Kody Aldrich, of the Ada County Sheriff's Office.

In this case, investigators kept tabs on a suspect for some time. They raided the home with extra precaution.

"You've got the occupants who usually aren't thinking straight, maybe have past records, known weapons, plus the actual chemical and the gasses and those type of things," Aldrich said.

Neighbors say they noticed a few things that seemed strange. They say the home always had several cars around and the people living there kept odd hours.

"Back in February these people had bought it and nobody in the neighborhood that I know of new anything about what was going on here at all," said Lackey.

Lackey says the home went up for foreclosure and the new owners bought it for $97,000. He says this isn't the craziest thing that's gone on in that house. The previous owner kept somewhat of a zoo.

"The woman there had a hundred cats inside the house along with rabbits, probably around 30 rabbits and around 20 iguanas."

He says the house was a mess, but the people rushed to move in anyway.

"I'm glad that it was raided and I'm glad they're getting rid of it an it's getting taken care of because we don't need this here," he said.
