Police effort 'Street Sweeper' nets 200 arrests
NAMPA - The Nampa Police Department announced its completion of a multi-agency cooperative operation called “Street Sweeper.”

This current project ran from June 18 – 21 and targeted high profile criminals and gang members. More than 70 officers from several agencies were involved.

Street Sweeper was conducted in both Canyon County and Ada County over the four-day period. Law enforcement officers made more than 200 arrests during the operation, which included 13 felony arrests, 149 misdemeanor arrests and 31 warrants served.

ICE Investigations made 12 arrests of illegal aliens. The ICE Fugitive Operations Team made 31 arrests of illegal aliens which included 12 fugitives, five criminal aliens, and one re-entry arrest of a convicted aggravated felon.

Officials made 182 contacts with gang members and associates were also made during the same time frame. Officers from Districts III and IV Probation and Parole and Juvenile Probation conducted 41 home searches on gang members and associates in Canyon and Ada Counties.

Additionally, officers recovered two Molotov cocktails, one assault rifle, three handguns, two machetes, one knife, and three sets of brass knuckles. Officers also seized 123 grams of methamphetamine, 266 grams of marijuana, and 13 drug pipes and paraphernalia.
