Pizza shop sends employees to Costa Rica
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Employees at an Idaho pizzeria have saved up more than $115,000 in tips during the past 13 years to pay for a weeklong tropical vacation.

Flying Pie workers at two Boise locations began putting 10 percent of their tips toward a trip to Hawaii during the 1990s. The pizzeria decided last year the money would be better spent in Central America.

Flying Pie locations on State St. and Fairview Ave. in Boise will close on Jan. 13 as more than 60 employees and their families head to Costa Rica. Employees saved up enough money to cover their salaries for one week.

The 30-year-old pizza chain garnered national attention in 1992 when it delivered three large pizzas to an Alaska man.
