Idaho caregiver faces forgery charges
TWIN FALLS (AP) - A caregiver in south-central Idaho has been charged with two felonies after police say she stole the credit card of an 82-year-old blind man and forged his signature to make $1,200 in purchases.

Julie Ramirez, a 33-year-old who lives in the rural farming community of Wendell, faces up to 14 years in prison if she is convicted on two counts of forgery of a financial transaction card.

Authorities say most of the purchases were made at an Italian restaurant and a local department store.
Cecil Millspaugh, who is confined to a wheelchair and hired Ramirez through a local caregiver service, says he was alerted to the charges after his credit card bill was read to him.

Ramirez is scheduled to appear in 5th District Court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 23.
