BOISE - Sarah Barrand is first and foremost a full time mom.

But there's another side to Sarah you might not know about. She's also a lean-mean-savings machine - on the prowl for good deals - slashing prices, coupon by coupon.

"I got $888 worth of groceries for $100 out of pocket and the thing is, if I can do it, anybody can do it," Barrand said.

Barrand is the brainchild behind A Thrifty Mom.com She started the website a month ago to show friends and family members how they can save, too. Now she's getting attention from people she doesn't even know - receiving 3,000 page views a day.

"I admit that I used to used to be embarrassed to walk into a store with my coupons, but all of a sudden now, with the economy the way it is, all of a sudden we're embracing being thrifty," she said.

On the website, you can learn the skills of her trade. Everything from how to organize your coupons to information on rebates.

"One thing I did not realize when I started using coupons so many years ago, was the store actually gets reimbursed for the coupon," she said.

So before you cut that family vacation out of your budget, Sarah says try cutting a few coupons, first. You may be surprised to learn how much you can save with a little time and a pair of scissors.
