GARDEN CITY - Police are investigating a reported rape on Monday afternoon.

Police said they were dispatched to 4206 Chinden in reference to a burglary in progress.

Officers arrived at the vacant business and said they made contact with a 16 year-old girl, inside. The teen told them she had been sexually assaulted and ordered to break into the building, said police.

Investigators said the girl had been walking in the 4500 block of Chinden when a male subject ordered her into his car. The suspect then drove the teen to a business in the 4200 block of Chinden where he parked the car and sexually assaulted her. After the assault occurred, the suspect directed the victim to walk over to the vacant building and break-in, according to police.

Witnesses observed the victim breaking the window and called authorities.

The suspect is described as a male between the ages of 35-40. Police said he is about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a small build, short brown hair, a brownish red beard and bad teeth.

The suspect's car is described as a brown, older model car with dark tinted windows and four doors.
