The saying nice girls don't play rough doesn't apply if your a member of the newest sport trend to roll through the Treasure Valley.

Meet "Disco Diablo", "Jill Dozer," and "May-Be Brutal" to roll off a few.

"You put on your skates, your uniform, and whatever your alter ego might be, and your called that when your here," "Disco Diablo" tells CBS 2 News.

They're teachers, students, restaurant workers, there's even a nurse, but on the track their the Treasure Valley Rollergirls.

"They're like 'you're what, what is roller derby?'  I'm like I'll explain it.   It's competitive roller skating where we go out and bash each other on the court.  'Oh we have that here?' And I'm like yeah we have it here," May-Be Brutal said when asked what she tells people about playing Roller Derby.

There's the Pivots, the Jammers, and the Blockers.

"The Pivots kind of keep the group together and the Jammers, their job is to get through and around and when they come back through for every member of the other team you pass legally you get a point," said Disco Diablo.

There are two 20 minute bout.  Each team is trying to stay inside the lines of the track and out score their opponents.

It may sound pretty simple, but these girls have to pass some intense skill assessments before they can even hit the track and they have to do it all on four wheels.

"We work our butts off twice a week, at least twice a week, and it's not easy," Jill Dozer said.

And even with all the safety gear the sport comes with it's risks.

"The hugest bruises you can imagine.  One girl caught her chin strap, she fell on another one, and cut her chin open," Disco Diablo explained when asked about sport injuries.

But a few spills won't stop these derby divas from rolling over their competition.

You can see the Treasure Valley Rollergirls take to the track in their first scheduled bout on March 21st at the Idaho Expo Building.
