In this first jailhouse interview, Gregory Seamons is defending himself.

"I'm not perfect, I'm not an angel, but I don't rape women," Seamons told CBS 2 News at the Ada County Jail. "And you know what, I will fight this to the bitter end, I will stand up for the truth, I will take this as far as a jury trial and the courts can go."

The Sheriff's Office says after midnight on Monday, Seamons held a gun to a woman's head and then raped her. He is being held pending arraignment on rape, kidnapping, aggravated assault and unlawful firearm possession charges.

Seamons says the night's events began here at the Long Horn Bar. He says he drank heavily, combining beer and alcohol. And soon after things started spiraling out of control.

Seamons, who is married, says he has known the alleged victim for three years. Seamons says he got into an altercation with another man at the bar, was driven home and then drove drunk back to the woman's place on Linder Road in Kuna. He then says he got into an argument with her about something that happened two weeks ago.

"I had a court date in Valley County, and she tried to persuade me to run away with her and miss this court date," Seamons said. "And she actually took me all the way to Mountain Home."

Seamons says he had some food, and said he fell asleep at her place. He claims he did not do anything to her. Investigators have a different story.

"She was held at gunpoint against her will and was raped," said Detective Don Lukasik of the Ada County Sheriff's Office.

Detective Lukasik says Seamons waved a gun around and she was scared for her well-being.

"He did show the weapon again and demand sexual contact," Lukasik said.

Seamons has a varied criminal history and has served state time in idaho for burglary, Lukasik said Seamons says he has a drinking problem, but is not a rapist.

"My family and my wife ... have to pay the greatest price," Lukasik said tearfully.
