Police nab two in Boise River gay sex sting
GARDEN CITY - Authorities have arrested a Boise man after they say he solicited a police detective for sexual acts.

Garden City Police says Wayne Olin, 65, was arrested on Tuesday at about 3:15 p.m. Police had been conducting an ongoing investigation along the Boise River near Plantation Island.

In the past, neighbors in the area have complained that the island is often used by men for gay sex. Some locals in fact call the area "fantasy Island."

"We were 100 feet from Mystic Cove Park where school's out, kids play, it is a secluded area," said Detective Mike Babbitt of the Garden City Police Department. "But who's to say that children can't be down there running around?"

Garden City Police said Tuesday afternoon that they also are investigating an 80-year-old man. That suspect, officials say, grabbed a detective and solicited for sex.

"We have been monitoring this particular area of the Boise River," police said in a press release. "We have zero tolerance for this behavior and will continue all necessary enforcement efforts necessary to stop it from re-occurring."
