Girl, 7, drowns in Idaho river
SHOSHONE, Idaho (AP) — A 7-year-old girl is believed to have drowned in the southcentral Idaho's Little Wood River.

Would-be rescuers from at least eight public agencies failed to find the girl, who apparently fell into the river from a bridge in the Shoshone City Park.

Shoshone Police Chief Jon Daubner says witnesses saw her jump, struggle, then disappear.

Divers from fire departments in Lincoln, Gooding, Cassia and Twin Falls counties were called to search the murky water.

Meanwhile, the Jerome County Sheriff's Search and Rescue built a barrier at a bridge downstream to aid in the search and keep the girl from being swept farther downstream.

The youngster's name wasn't released.
