Idahoans applaud each other as they voice concerns to Representative Walt Minnick.
BOISE - One-by-one, they took turns voicing their concerns. And for about two hours, Representative Walt Minnick tuned in, with some assistance from Senator Mike Crapo, by phone.
Jon Waddell attended the Town Hall session and was pleased to see Minnick show up.
"It takes a lot of guts to face the people and we can really tell how he feels and he can tell how we feel," Waddell said.
Tea Party Boise sponsored the open town hall meeting. It attracted over 300 people, and most who attended, had specific questions about health care.
But it wasn't the only issue brought to the table Saturday night.
"I've been in the construction industry for 40 years, and I can't find work right now," Waddell said.
Despite emotions running high, the town hall wasn't like other meetings seen across the country. Applause replaced screaming and the audience helped keep each other in line.
John Anderson with Tea Party Boise says he's pleased with how the evening went.
"People got out and they were respected," Anderson said. "They got their questions asked and most of them answered."
It's clear Minnick has his work cut out for him next term. But Saturday night, he's able to walk away with a better understanding of what some Idahoans say they need.
