BOISE - If you haven't heard there's a big game Thursday.
In fact, Boise State officials are predicting Boise State's game versus Oregon draw the largest crowd in university history. With that, however, there will be some parking issues.
So, here's what you need to know:
• Parking is not allowed along portions of University Drive from 2-5 a.m. daily, and overnight parking is prohibited.
• The public can pre-purchase football parking passes online for guaranteed game-day parking, with spaces available for $40-$90, based on location. Passes will be available on a first come, first served basis. To purchase, visit the Transportation and Parking Services
website or call at (208) 426-1052.
• Those parked in reserved or general lots surrounding or near Bronco Stadium on game-day will need to relocate to another lot by 4 p.m. or be cited and towed.
• Tailgating is prohibited in parking garages and on the grass fronting the East Stadium Parking Lot along Broadway Avenue and University Drive, unless you are a member of the Bronco Athletic Association (BAA). Spaces in surface parking lots may not be saved and are limited to one per parking permit.
• Boise State is smoke-free, and Boise Police will be patrolling and citing for illegal alcohol use on campus and in the surrounding neighborhoods.
• The Downtown Business Association provides free shuttles from downtown garages (which charge a $5 parking fee) to the game.
Shuttles will run during the two hours before and after game time, and stops include the corners of 8th and Broad, 8th and Main, and 6th and Grove streets.
• Visitors are discouraged from parking on residential side streets. Street parking located closest to the university is city parking and is not controlled by Boise State.
If you do choose to park on city streets, vehicles cannot remain longer than 24 hours, and parking is not allowed 30 feet from stop signs, 20 feet from intersections, 15 feet from fire hydrants, in alleyways, driveways or vacant yards, on sidewalks or along restricted, signed areas.
These laws apply to all motor vehicles, including motorcycles and scooters.
Julia Davis Park is open to visitors from sunrise to midnight, but vehicles left in the park after midnight will be towed.
Because of the 8:15 p.m. kickoff for the Broncos vs. Oregon football game on Sept. 3, cars will not be towed until after 2 a.m.
