TSA Director Arrested at Idaho Falls Hotel For Indecent Exposure
The now former Director of the Transportation Security Administration in Boise was arrested last week at an Idaho Falls hotel.

Doug Melvin was busted after staff and hotel guests say they saw him walking around naked.

In the police report it says, "Melvin entered the swimming area and removed his clothing before walking around, exposing himself."

It goes on to say, "Melvin was also reportedly masturbating while in front of the windows directly in view of the main elevator."

Melvin served as the International Airport Federal Security Director at the Boise Airport.

But Tuesday the Transportation Security Administration issued this statement: "Doug Melvin resigned for personal reasons."

Melvin tells CBS 2 Eyewitness News he was not asked to resign, and what happened at the hotel last week had nothing to do with his decision to leave TSA.

He admits, "It wasn't the smartest thing to do, it was just something that happened, which he obviously regrets."

Melvin denies alcohol played a role, but it is listed as a motivation in the police report, along with trying to satisfy a personal need or desire.

Melvin was cited for indecent exposure, which is a misdemeanor in Idaho.

He could face a maximum of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

An interim director will take over until TSA can find a permanent replacement.
