Body of missing Idaho man found
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Idaho County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jim Gorges says the body of a Jerome man missing since Oct. 14 has been found in Hells Canyon.

Gorges told The Times-News that a fisherman on the Snake River found the remains of 64-year-old Ray Dean Leavitt last week.

Leavitt was fishing with 50-year-old Tom Blair when their boat struck a rock, throwing both men into the river. Blair resurfaced and swam back to the boat; Leavitt didn't make it.

An Idaho Department of Fish and Game officer and a Nez Perce County Sheriff's deputy retrieved the body and took it to a Lewiston funeral home at the request of Leavitt's family.
