Father backs over, kills 22-month-old son
KUNA - Ada County Police says an accident involving a 22-month-old toddler ended in his death.

At about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Red Oak Avenue in Kuna police and paramedics responded to a medical call.

Neighbors tell 2News the father had just gotten back home from a hunting trip and was backing out his truck to wash it. That's when they say his son thought his father was leaving and ran after his dad.

"You never seen a dad love his kids more than what he does," said neighbor Brandon Hofhines. "He looks after them, loves them with all of his heart and I'm pretty sure right now he's devastated."

Police and paramedics responded and attempted CPR on scene until an ambulance arrived. The child was taken to Saint Alphonsus where he was pronounced dead.

Police say they have no plans to file criminal charges.
