WEIPPE, Idaho (AP) — A 3-year-old girl died this week in a house fire near Weippe, in northcentral Idaho.

Fawn M. Robles, who is 40, and her 14-month-old granddaughter, Faith Proctor, were able to exit the home early Monday afternoon after the fire broke out.

But Robles told fire officials she was unable to find her 3-year-old granddaughter, Feather Procter, before the structure became fully engulfed.

The girl's body was found after firefighters extinguished the flames.

Faith Procter was treated and released at a local hospital.

Robles was transported by helicopter to Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane where she was listed in stable condition Tuesday.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
