State not backing off Bible case despite suit threat
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - The Idaho Attorney General's office is
telling Nampa Classical Academy officials the state won't back down
from pursuing information about the charter school's possible use
of the Bible despite the threat of a lawsuit by a religious liberty
group.

In an e-mail sent Friday to school officials and obtained by the
Idaho Press-Tribune, deputy attorney general Mike Gilmore says the
Idaho Public Charter School Commission will not comply with a
Wednesday letter sent by the Alliance Defense Fund to the
commission.

The school is defying an order from the commission to turn over
information about its possible use of the Bible and other religious
texts, and the Arizona group says it will file a lawsuit against
the commission if it doesn't stop trying to get the information.
