OSBURN, Idaho (AP) — Officials with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game say that motorists in northern Idaho should watch out for wolves on the road.

The Coeur d'Alene Press reports that the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office says a black wolf was hit and killed by a sport utility vehicle last week on Interstate 90. Capt. Jeremy Groves says it was the department's first vehicle vs. wolf call of the season, but more are likely to come.

Idaho Department of Fish and Game Regional Supervisor Chip Corsi says there are quite a bit of wolves in the St. Joe basin and they tend to travel a lot — and that means crossing Interstate 90 and other roads.
