BOISE - Two people are in custody after an apparent purse snatching at a Boise Wal-Mart.
Ada County Dispatch says they received a report of a purse snatching at the Wal-Mart on Overland. Two suspects apparently fled in a red Volkswagen Jetta. Police caught up with them near Emerald and Maple Grove.
Witness tells police that as she returned her shopping cart to the store two men were seen stealing her purse from the passenger seat of her vehicle. The two suspects then drove away in a car. The victim was able to give a detailed description to police over the phone.
Boise Police responding to the call saw the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop. After a very brief chase, the driver of the suspect vehicle lost control and the car crashed near Maple Grove and Emerald.
One suspect, a juvenile, refused to cooperate with police and officers were forced to use a Taser to take him into custody, police say.
A citizen helped arrest the second suspect, police say. The citizen had a handgun and was able to hold the suspect until police arrived.
The adult male, Jeffrey Epperson, 38, has been charged with burglary and fleeing and evading (both felonies). The juvenile will face similar charges, police say.
