HAMMETT - A 9-year-old Boise girl has been killed in a rollover crash on Interstate 84 in Elmore County.
Elmore County Dispatch says the crash occurred near Hammett near milepost 114.
An Elmore County deputy says a grandmother and grandfather and two children were traveling from Boise to Utah when the right rear tire blew out on the mini-van causing it to roll. Both children were ejected from the van.
"Two children were ejected and laying on the road when I arrived. A number of bystanders were on scene trying to help with CPR," said Kevin Henslee, deputy sheriff with Elmore County.
The young girl died at the scene. The other child, a 10-year-old boy, was flown by air ambulance to a Boise hospital, officials say. He has since been released from the hospital.
Officers say it is unclear whether the children were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
"Make sure your kids are buckled in all the time. They have a lot less chance of being ejected from the vehicle if they are seat belted in and seating in those seat belts properly - no feet over the back of the seats watching movies and that kind of thing," Henslee said.
