Fire destroys two homes on Thanksgiving
HOMEDALE - Two families are left with nothing after a fire destroyed their homes on Thanksgiving.

Fire crews the fire broke out at about 4 p.m. Rescue crews in Homedale and surrounding communities were dispatched to West Owyhee Avenue near 3rd Street.

Smoke could be seen pouring from the homes after fire crews were able to knock down the flames. One of the homeowners said the fire started in his neighbor's house and spread to his.

Dennis Davis says both of the homes are a total loss.

"Flames came out of kitchen window and went from that house and the next house through the attic," he said.

Davis says there was also an apartment in back of his home that was burnt. No one else was injured. Firefighters tore down the homes with a crane.

Davis says he has no fire insurance but he knows the community of Homedale will help him in his time of need.

Fire officials have not released what sparked the blaze.
