"Topix.net" Tensions continue to rise among Micron employees and their families. CBS 2 Eyewitness News tried to speak to employees entering and leaving the grounds but no one would stop. Others have previously refused on camera interviews because they are afraid if they talk, they'll lose their jobs.
At one on line site, people also remain anonymous out of fear, but claim to be current and former employees, friends, relatives, and Micron investors. All here to sound off on the imminent Micron layoffs.
A blogger who calls himself "Ex Employee" writes: "I was laid off this morning. I know other people were because when I went to pick up my things there were other boxes at the front desk with names on them to be picked up."
Another frets about what's to come: "Just waiting for that dreaded phone call. my heart stops everytime the phone rings."
One person who calls himself "capitol insider" writes that only 500 people will be laid off. Most rejected that, claiming it will be in the thousands, and managers have two weeks to complete the firings. One blogger calls July 9th D-day for pink slips.
Others direct frustration at CEO Steve Appleton and the lack of communication. "If you treat your family by keeping them in the dark and letting them worry about if they are going to have a job the next morning when they wake up... then I guess that speaks miles about where this company will head," says the poster named "Insider".
And for these bloggers, creating the perfect conditions for sleepless nights.
