IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The former prosecutor for Bonneville County and Idaho Falls will soon be released from prison after serving time for stealing guns.

The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole has set a tentative release date of May 28 for Kimball Mason, who was sentenced to up to 15 years in prison for stealing guns from the Idaho Falls Police Department's evidence vault.

He was ordered to serve at least four years before he was eligible for parole.

Parole Commission Executive Director Olivia Craven told the Post Register that during his parole board hearing, Mason took responsibility for his crimes and outlined plans for his return to Idaho Falls. According to the minutes of the meeting, Mason plans to work at Chapman Construction.
