Embattled Nampa charter school to meet with parents
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An embattled Idaho charter school will meet with parents on Monday to answer questions after the state took a first step toward closing Nampa Classical Academy.

The Idaho Public Charter School Commission voted Thursday to begin the lengthy process of revoking the academy's charter because the school failed to produce financial documents on time.

Nampa Classical Academy board member Erik Makrush says the schools was supposed to provide the commission with budget materials for the coming school year 30 days before the meeting, but the documents weren't ready.

The school, which is suing Idaho officials in federal court for barring the Bible and other religious texts from the classroom, is working with commissioners and hopes to stay open.
