BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - One of the patas monkeys at Zoo Boise gave birth Tuesday evening, according to a KBOI 2News viewer who says she was there when it happened.

Zoo Boise officials wouldn't confirm the birth, but say the patas monkey exhibit will be closed until further notice.

Officials tell us that they usually wait a few days to make an announcement because of how fragile the situation is after a birth.

The viewer sent us a photo from Alicia Lee and says it was taken ten minutes after the baby was born.

Zoo Boise has three adult patas monkeys currently. Two of them were introduced earlier this year after a previous monkey was beaten and killed during a break-in last November.

More information is expected to be released later this week.
