MANILA, Philippines (AP) - Philippine Airlines has signed a deal to buy and lease six Boeing 777-300 Extended Range jetliners.

Airline president Jaime Bautista says the widebody planes have a list price of $250 million dollars each and will allow the airline to expand direct service between the Philippines and the U.S.

Bautista says the agreement covers firm orders for two planes and purchase rights for two others. Another two planes will be leased.

The planes will be delivered beginning in 2009.
