Utah man behind bars accused of preying on young girl online
Caldwell, Idaho – The Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged a Utah man with Felony Child Enticement following an almost two-month investigation into his online activities that included multiple conversations with an investigator who was posing as an underage girl.

Allen B Johnson, age 48, of Provo, was arrested yesterday afternoon at a Caldwell restaurant after he agreed to meet with an officer who was representing himself as the 15-year-old girl that Johnson had been communicating with online. The undercover investigation began in February when an investigator with the Prosecutor’s Office, who was posing as an underage girl, began having online conversations with Johnson that were sexual in nature. At one point during the investigation, Johnson gave the investigator access to his online profile that contained pornographic images, including several that were of Johnson himself. He agreed to meet the underage girl to engage in sexual relations, driving from Provo to Canyon County on Friday to meet.

Johnson was booked into the Canyon County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. Johnson is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The Canyon County Prosecutor’s Office has an investigator dedicated to investigating special victims crimes, including child pornography and online enticement cases. CCPA Investigators have received information that Johnson may have additional victims. They are asking anyone with information about juveniles that Johnson has had contact with to contact the Canyon County Prosecutor’s Office Investigations Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS or contact Investigator Tony Thompson at 454-7391.
