Canyon County groundskeeper sentenced for fraud
CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A former Canyon County building and grounds keeper received a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to five felonies, including grand theft.

Andrew Eveland on Thursday received prison sentence ranging from two to 10 years, but had the time behind bars suspended.

He pleaded guilty to four felony counts of presentation of false accounts and one count of grand theft in April.

The 43-year-old Eagle resident acknowledged submitting false invoices and claims to the Canyon County Commission for cleaning services that were never performed.

He also admitted taking county property including computers and TVs for his own use.

Prosecutors originally charged him defrauding Canyon County of more than $64,000.

Following an evaluation program, a judge in 3rd District Court will determine the amount of restitution that Eveland must pay.
