BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Two people have been busted for allegedly forcing more than a dozen local women into prostitution at various hotels in the Treasure Valley, investigators said Thursday.

The Boise Police Department says the two suspects, 44-year-old Derrick Hicklen and 28-year-old Gypsie Akers, were booked into the Ada County Jail. Police say Akers is accused of taking the money the victims earned, while Hicklen is accused of performing several sexual acts on the women without their consent.

BPD says in some instances, the sexual acts occurred after the victim had been given a substance that didn't allow them to object. Officials did not disclose what that substance was. The Boise man is also accused of photographing the sexual incidents.

"We believe the women involved were victimized in every sense. It's taken courage for them to speak with officers, said Sgt. Mark Barnett of the Boise PD Violent Crimes Unit. "And we're still searching for what we believe are more victims."

Hicklen has been charged with five felonies: human trafficking, detention for prostitution, rape, procurement and video voyeurism.
