Ex Canyon County employee sentenced for sex texts to teen
CALDWELL, Idaho - The Canyon County Prosecutor's Office says a former employee at the Canyon County Assessor's Office has been sentenced after he tried to set up a sexual encounter with a 16-year-old girl.

The prosecutor's office says Jason Cooperdock was sentenced Monday to 30 days in jail as well as nine years probation. Officials say he sent the lewd text messages to a friend's 16-year-old daughter.

Cooperdock was fired from his position with the Assessor's Office.

A judge has also ordered Cooperdock to have no contact with the teen or her mother and is not allowed to have any contact with teens under the age of 18 during his probation period.
