Man caught speeding busted with nearly three pounds of pot, sheriff says
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - A Las Vegas man has been busted for allegedly transporting about three pounds of meth into the Treasure Valley.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office says Jose Elias Carrillo, 25, of Las Vegas, was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on a trafficking methamphetamine charge.

Deputies say they pulled over Carrillo's Ford minivan for speeding and crossing over the fog lane on westbound I-84, near Orchard Street, just before 11 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies, thanks to a K9, later found three packages of meth totaling a little more than 2.75 pounds of methamphetamine.

Deputies say it appears Carrillo was coming from Las Vegas and was headed to Caldwell to deliver the meth when he got caught.

Carrillo was arraigned on the trafficking charge Thursday afternoon. He is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $300,000 bond
