Nampa PD tracks down man who sped off, officers say

NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) -- Police have arrested a 29-year-old Nampa man after he fled from police last week during a traffic stop.

Officers say they stopped a red Honda Accord on the 1200 block of West Orchard in Nampa April 23. The driver, 34-year-old Brandi Nicole Davis, ran from the vehicle but was arrested shortly after.

Police say 29-year-old Vincent Prieto was in the back of the vehicle and jumped into the driver's seat and sped off. He then allegedly was speeding near Midway and Lake Lowell and sideswiped a vehicle.

Prieto had been on the run until Thursday evening.

Officers learned he was in a home on the 1700 block of 3rd Street South in Nampa. He surrendered to police without incident. He has been booked into the Canyon County Jail on numerous charges including felony eluding and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.
