Woman accused of attacking TVCC bball player Thomas Hooper

ONTARIO, Ore., (KBOI) -- A 31-year-old woman is accused of attacking a Treasure Valley Community College basketball player -- critically injuring him, police in Ontario say.

Ontario Police says 19-year-old Thomas Hooper of Las Vegas sustained severe head injuries after being hit by a metal bar and glass bottle. He's currently in a medically induced coma and in critical condition at a Boise hospital.

"These are life threatening injuries and the next couple of days are critical to his recovery," police said in a news release.

Ontario PD said several people were fighting at a home on the 500 block of NW 1st Street at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Numerous people were injured but officials say Hooper's injuries were most significant.

Officials say they've arrested April Brown of Ontario, who was arrested Sunday night. Brown lives in a home next to where the fight took place and assaulted Hooper with a metal bar, officials say. Witnesses told police that Hooper was also assaulted by multiple people.

Brown has been booked on assault in the first degree.

Hooper is a freshman for TVCC and graduated from Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas, according to the school's website.
