Local firefighters prepare for 2014 Stairclimb in Seattle

BOISE - Local fire departments are stepping up to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and you can help out!

Several Treasure Valley fire departments are participating in the March event in Seattle.

Firefighters wear full gear and climb the Columbia Center's 69 floors.

It's a grueling test of physical and mental agility.

So far, the Boise Fire Department is in the fundraising lead, with more than 35-thousand dollars.
