Two-month old kitten, Raisin, dies after abuse
GARDEN CITY - A two-month old kitten the target of apparent physical abuse by area teenagers has died, animal care givers say.
Last week, a local resident spotted teenagers tossing a kitten around like a baseball and quickly intervened. Veterinarians also believe the teens splashed some sort of blinding chemical into Raisin's eyes.
Stem was on her way to work when she saw two teenagers brutally beating the kitten.

"As soon as he saw me slam on my brakes he threw that kitten as hard as he could and he got on his bike and left," the Good Samaritan said. "The other one stayed and said 'I didn't do anything'...I thought she was going to die in my arms."
Northwest Animal Companions says a police report is likely to be filed sometime today.
