BOISE -- One of Boise's signature Halloween events is Boo at the Zoo where costumed characters pass out candy and there are all sorts of activities.

It's at Zoo Boise on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.

And explore the spooky past of the Old Idaho Pen Friday and Saturday as the Idaho Historical Society hosts Frightened Felons both days from 7-11p.m. at the Old Idaho Penitentiary.

The City of Boise reminds trick-or-treaters Halloween in the City of Trees will be celebrated on the traditional day of Sunday Oct. 31.

In Eagle, Nampa, Meridian and Caldwell, city leaders said it is up to each individual family to decide when they would like to trick-or-treat.

Caldwell police will hold their annual DARE/PAL Halloween party at O'Connor Field House Saturday from 6-8 p.m.

In Wilder, the mayor says they'll be celebrating Halloween Saturday.

And we must always remember our little furry friends during Halloween because they need extra special care during this spooky time.

The Humane Society of the United States recommends keeping pets safely indoors, away from trick-or-treaters. And make sure pets wear tags with current ID. And keep candy out of your pets' reach. It can make them sick.
