Star man killed in crash on Highway 16 identified
EAGLE, Idaho - One person is dead after a car crash at Highway 16 and Beacon Light Road Tuesday night.

According to emergency crews on the scene of the crash, a Porsche 911 driven by Donald Hutchinson, 66, of Star was on Beacon Light attempting to cross Highway 16.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office says he stopped at the stop sign, but then entered the intersection without yielding to oncoming traffic, and was broadsided by a Toyota Corolla driving north on the highway.

Hutchinson died at the scene.

The Corolla's driver, a 21-year-old Nampa man, was not seriously hurt in the crash, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The Sheriff's Office says that evidence gathered from the Porsche suggests that alcohol was a likely contributing factor to the crash.

The driver of the Corolla does not face any charges, according to the sheriff's office.
