Tipster to receive cash reward for help in recovering bikes

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A Boise State University employee who spotted bikes stolen from one of the teams racing in the Exergy Tour and called police is scheduled to receive a $2,500 reward Thursday afternoon.

Paul Robertson's tip last week ahead of the first day of racing helped police recover what Team TIBCO reported as $120,000 in 14 missing bicycles and more than a dozen carbon racing wheels taken from an enclosed trailer that had the lock cut off.

The bikes were recovered in time for the start of the five-day stage race that began May 24 and concluded Monday.

The race that had Olympic selection ramifications drew 16 teams and dozens of riders from around the world.
