Bogus Basin bringing in record revenue
Ski season got off to a late start, but ticket sales are quickly racking up. In just the last two months, Bogus Basin has sold 220,000 tickets. That's 20,000 more compared to this time last year.

Alan Moore, Vice President of Finance at Bogus Basin said "Since our opening date, it's probably the best season we've ever had."

A lot of it has to do with the heavy dose of snowfall since the new year.

Skier Chris Bieter said "Early January snow was outstanding. Very dry, plus a lot of it. It's the best there is."

Moore agrees. "We opened with so much snow right at the opening, all the sudden it snowed about two feet and it's continued to snow so we've done just very, very well from that point."

Night skiing numbers are up by almost twice as much and each week the mountain has been open, it's brought in record revenue.

It's been nine record weeks in a row for Bogus basin and the season is still going strong, but with temperatures warming up who knows how long it will last.

"I think we'll be skiing until April this year for sure we've got so much snow up here for the base," Bieter said.
Another skier told us "We'll probably get tired of skiing before the snow's gone."

Mountain officials say they would like to keep chair lifts running through April and there's a chance that could happen. Meteorologists are predicting above average moisture through March. They also expect the snow-melt to hold off. Good news for business and those hitting the slopes. Next year's season pass is already on sale. People who buy it can use it this year as well.

"I moved to Boise this past summer and I've been trying to get on the slopes as much as possible, so I'm getting my first pass." Skier Liz Campbell said.

Bogus expects to sell 25,000 passes by Tuesday.
