Who's paying for the no vote on Props 1, 2 & 3?

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - After Education Voters of Idaho released its donor list to the Secretary of State KBOI 2News received an email from a viewer wanting to know who is donating to the Propositions 1, 2, and 3 group.

So, we checked the list. The thirty-three pages of donors are in small increments.

The major donor for the vote "no" group is the National Education Association which has sent almost $3 million. The second largest contributor is the Idaho Education Association at more than $495,000.

The IEA has also given over $95,000 to a group called Idaho Republicans for our Schools.

Its contributions are listed as "in kind" and include advertising, food and travel expenses. The "Education Voters of Idaho" list is much smaller, but donors have given in much larger amounts. It includes New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Albertsons heir Joe Scott.

Other big contributors to EVI are Hagadone Hospitality, the ownership for Coeur d'Elene Resort and CDA Press which gave $150,000. An Eagle real estate developer based in Arizona gave $10,000 as did Intermountain Gas.

A spokesman for Intermountain Gas said the donation was given by shareholders and customers, and that the CEO made the decision based on the company's belief in creating an educated workforce.
