RUPERT, Idaho (KBOI) - Idaho State Police is investigating a one-vehicle crash that killed an 18-year-old girl from Paul, Idaho.
The crash happened just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday near Rupert.
According to Idaho State Police, 18-year-old Dakota B. Twiss was driving and failed to negotiate a curve in the road. Deputies say she then continued onto the shoulder and hit the railroad tracks. Her 2002 Volkswagen Jetta then rolled and landed upright on the tracks.
Twiss and her passenger, 18-year-old Mylee Pratt of Paul, were taken to Minidoka Memorial Hospital. Twiss died from her injuries at the hospital.
Roads were shut down for nearly eight hours, but have been reopened.
