LA CENTER, Wash. – A 65-year-old La Center man was arrested for shooting his 48-year-old son on Sunday night, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to a home after Barry Briemon, Sr. called 911 around 8:30 p.m. and said he was going to kill his sons and himself, Sgt. Kevin Allais said.
Briemon, Sr. called 911 again later and told a dispatcher that he had shot one of his sons.
Deputies arrived and found Barry Briemon, Jr., suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip. Briemon, Jr. was taken to a hospital by LifeFlight helicopter. His condition is unknown.
Deputies took Barry Briemon, Sr. into custody. He faces one count of attempted murder in the first degree.
The motive for the shooting is unclear.
The other son who was at the house, Kevin Briemon, was found hiding under a vehicle in an outbuilding several hours later. Deputies took him into custody for violating a restraining order that forbid him from being around his brother, Barry.
Kevin Briemon, 41, also had a felony warrant for his arrest, Allais said.
