TONASKET, Wash. - A 37-year-old librarian at Tonasket High School has been accused of having sex with an 18-year-old student.

Elizabeth Kinkade was arrested Tuesday and made her first court appearance Wednesday in an Okanogan County court.

KXLY reports she was released without bail and ordered to have no contact with the student.

Kinkade has not yet been charged but her arraignment is scheduled for June 2.

Police say the charges involve a student who is not a minor. But a Washington law dictates a person can be considered a minor in cases like this if the adult in the case is a school employee.

Police do not believe there are any other victims.

Superintendent Paul Turner says the school board held a special meeting Wednesday and voted to fire Kinkade immediately.
