Helena Star towed to Seattle
A notorious, derelict boat that sank in Tacoma's Hylebos Waterway has been refloated and towed to Seattle to be dismantled. The 167-foot freighter Helena Star went under in January 2013, and has spilled at least 640 gallons of oil and diesel into the waterway. In 1978, the drug-smuggling ship was seized by the U.S. Coast Guard with $75 million worth of pot on board. It made its last voyage July 24, 2014. (KOMO Photos: Air 4)
